Frequently asked questions
Is Chiropractic safe during pregnancy?
Yes! The research shows that chiropractic is a safe, gentle, and effective way to care for pregnant women. Chiropractic care during pregnancy can help to ease discomforts, as well as helping to prepare your body for birth. We strive to create a comfortable environment in our office. We have pregnancy pillows that allow you to safely lay face down on our adjusting tables. Our techniques are gentle and safe for the duration of your pregnancy, as well as postpartum. Dr. Morgan and Dr. Lauren are both Webster Certified for perinatal care.

What does "Webster Certified" mean?
Dr. Morgan and Dr. Lauren are both trained in the Webster technique. This is an analysis and adjusting method designed to be safe and effective for pregnancy care. The focus of this technique is placed on balancing the pelvic bones, as well as the surrounding muscles and ligaments. This creates a more comfortable environment for both mom and baby. This certification is often something that doulas, midwives, and other birth workers look for when referring their clients to Chiropractic care.
Is it safe to adjust infants and children?
When seeing a chiropractor with specialized training in pediatric care, it is a safe and gentle option for babies and kiddos. Chiropractic care for children looks a lot different than it does for adults! Adjustments are very gentle and we use specialized pediatric techniques to analyze and adjust. The pressure of an adjustment on infants is similar to that of checking the ripeness of a tomato – and there is no twisting, cracking, or popping with infant adjustments. We may also utilize gentle instruments to adjust, depending on the age and size of the child, as well as their comfort and preference. As with all adjustments, we are matching the tone of the body we are working with. We are focused on the health of the musculoskeletal system (particularly the spine), which is important to youth development and overall wellbeing. Many parents bring their kiddos in for help with digestion, growing pains, colic, torticollis, latching struggles, milestone progression, sports recovery, immune support, emotion regulation, and overall development support.

What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a conservative and natural healing art, science, and philosophy that concentrates on keeping people well. Doctors of Chiropractic do not treat symptoms, though this may be the initial reason why a patient comes to a chiropractic office. The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health.
The detection and correction of spinal misalignments (subluxations) with resultant nervous system dysfunction is the focus. A subluxation can interrupt the flow of information and affect the body’s nervous system causing pain, muscle dysfunction, organ dysfunction and other imbalances.
What is Subluxation?
Subluxation, or more precisely, the Vertebral Subluxation Complex, describes what happens when vertebrae lose their normal motion or position. This can also be referred to as a vertebral fixation. Subluxation can be caused by a number of different physical, chemical, or emotional stressors. This often shows up with automobile collisions, improper lifting, substance use, emotional stress, hormone imbalances, stress, and other repetitive daily activities or emotions. Rather than treating the symptoms at a surface level, our chiropractors are interested in detecting, reducing, and correcting the Vertebral Subluxation Complex.
What can we help with?
Our chiropractors focus on balancing the musculoskeletal system by adjusting the spine and extremity joints, as well as incorporating soft tissue techniques. This helps to optimize nervous system function, which can have profound benefits throughout the body. With regular chiropractic care, many of our patients experience:
• Reduced pain and discomforts
• Increased mobility and range of motion
• Decreased stiffness and muscle spasms
• Increased spinal posture health
• Faster muscle recovery post-workout
• Better muscle engagement and effectiveness of workouts
• Headache relief
• Increased energy and less fatigue
• Better emotion regulation
• Increased joint health
• Improved outcomes from auto accident recovery
• Managing aches and pains during pregnancy
• Relief from postpartum tension
• Better quality of sleep
• Reduced risk of injury
... and these are just to name a few! Everyone responds differently to chiropractic care. When we allow the nervous system to communicate optimally, the body can function as it’s intended to and we often see benefits of this throughout the body!
How does Chiropractic affect the nervous system?
The nervous system includes the brain, spinal cord, and nerves traveling all throughout the body. Chiropractic adjustments help to restore normal function and movement of the spine. The spine is what houses and protects the spinal cord, which serves as the communication highway for brain to body connection. When the spine is fixated or restricted, this can interfere with nervous system function because of the close relationship between the spine and the nerves. By adjusting the spine and extremity joints, we are helping to remove interference from the nervous system, allowing your body to communicate and heal optimally. This is how we can affect the whole body with spinal adjustments, and help you to heal from the inside out!
