  • What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a conservative and natural healing art, science and philosophy that concentrates on keeping people well. Doctors of Chiropractic do not treat symptoms, though this may be the initial reason why a patient comes to a chiropractic office. The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health. The detection and correction of spinal misalignments (subluxations) with resultant nervous system dysfunction is the focus. A subluxation can interrupt the flow of information and affect the body’s nervous system causing pain, muscle dysfunction, organ dysfunction and other imbalances.

"Webster Certified" means Dr. Morgan has additional training in taking care of pregnant women especially for in their hips/ low back. The certification is something that doulas, midwives, and birth workers look for when referring Chiropractors for their clients.
  • Is it safe to Adjust Infants and Children?
The literature to date reveals an exceedingly low risk of adverse events related to chiorpractic spinal manipulation when properly applied to children. Additionaly, there is evidence doctors of chiropractic can help babies with nursing difficulties and irritability. Knowing this chiropractors can confidently treat infants with safe, gentle and effective form of healthcare that can help babies (and thereby their parents) sleep better, feed better and smile more often. Check this article from www.chirohealth.org that reviewed the evidence. This is from the Washington State Chiropractic Association in their Spring/Summer issue 2015. Page 28-29.
  • Is chiropractic safe for pregnancy and your baby before the birth??
As stated in this article within the Pathways to Family Wellness magazine, A magazine Dr Morgan subscribes to for it's quarterly publications, this article is written by a childbirth educator about the importance of chiropractic in childbirth education, as well as the role of a chiropractor. Here is what a childbirth educator had to say from women with testimonials with varied stories. Listen to what they have to say about the benefits of chiropractic care in pregnancy, labor and birth. For Cori, chiropractic care helped her have a more enjoyable and healthy pregnancy. Of course, chiropractic can do so much more during pregnancy than eliminate pain, but another thing that you quickly realize when working with birthing women is that chiropractic can help labor to simply proceed normally. It can also have a deep and lasting impact on the emotional health of the woman. Another childbirth educator incorporates chirorpactic into a bootcamp she runs and has this to say: "Ever since meeting a Webster-certified chiropractor that she really learned about the beneifts of chiropractic care during pregnancy, labor and postpartum. Her couples in the bootcamp hare having more comfortable pregnacies, babies are in better positions, and good birth experiences." Many pregnant women fear chiropractic, especially during pregnancy. Meeting with a doctor of chiropractic and seeing her in action is a powerful teaching technique and is part of the reason the students feel so comfortable seeking care.
  • What is Subluxation?
Subluxation, or more precisely, the Vertebral subluxation Complex, describes what happens when spinal bones lose their normal motion or position from stress, trauma or chemical imbalances. Automobile collisions, improper lifting, drugs, alcohol, emotional stress, chemical imbalances, and long periods of sitting can all cause the Vertebral subluxation Complex. Instead of just treating your symptoms, your chiropractor is primarily interested in detecting, reducing, and correcting the Vertebral subluxation Complex.
  • How does a Chiropractor help with this condition?
Through a procedure called an adjustment, which helps restore misaligned vertebrae to a more normal position, thus allowing the nerves to properly communicate with the rest of the body and let the body heal – safely and naturally. In our office we can utilize a variety of specialized Chiropractic techniques depending on the person to identify and treat the subluxation. In general, applying a gentle force in a corrective manner to the affected spinal area is performed. In addition to spinal adjustive techniques, soft tissue techniques such as massage, dietary and nutritional counseling, and lifestyle (stretch/strength) modification programs are commonly employed.
